We were lodging with Mrs Molly Segar at 11 Elmsley Road, Liverpool in 1962/63. During our stay we visited our first dog show with her which was Crufts on 9th February 1963. We saw Ch. Bulstaff Achillies go Best Dog and be beaten for BOB by Ch. Dancer of Oldwell. Then on 9th March 1963, Mrs Segar had a litter by Lingwell Thunderstorm x Ch. Goodstock Twinkletoes with the result we came home to Glasgow with a puppy bitch (Juno of Sandene). Our second bullmastiff in 1970 was Salvateo Don Fabian (Ch. Rommel of Ivywill x Rhapsody of Goodstock), he was bred by Mr Len Hirst and went on to win 5 Reserve CC's including one at Crufts. Three years later we bought a bitch Tayvallich Golden Dawn (Leontas Stag x Frederica Of Kelwall) and together they were the start of Clyth Bullmastiffs. Some of our other winning dogs were Clyth Fuirbidh (1 CC and 4 Res. CC's), Clyth Tarbh Tobhlair, Clyth Sgal at Dalbrae, Clyth Oig and of course our present boy Clyth Ealg. We have exported puppies to Canada, Spain, Switzerland, Australia where Clyth Triath became an Australian Champion and America where Clyth Dreagan At Andalusian became a National Champion and Ch. Clyth Piobaire at Lion Heart who has offspring that are now also Champions. It's hard to believe it's 40 years but happily Clyth Bullmastiffs have grown from strength to strength. We have produced many winning dogs and spent many a night looking after puppies. We still show, judge at a Championship level and breed occasionally and hope to do so for many years to come.
